SUMMARY:

Although it is still uncommon, it has become increasingly necessary to analyze the changes associated with health from a multidisciplinary perspective, in order to capture its various aspects and determinants. As interrelationships between factors related to health and factors of applied social factors, they have been indicated since the Ancient Age and have been increasingly explored in empirical research. Therefore, the present study seeks to analyze the impact of the main determinants of the recent microcephaly epidemic, as well as its distribution in space. In order to identify the presence of patterns of association, check which are the main determinants that affect the incidence of diseases and analyze their individual effect, as well as the possible effects of overflow. A survey has a geographic return, in the Northeast region, in the year 2016. To do so, it will be used, as a methodological tool, techniques of spatial economics, such as an Exploratory Analysis of Spatial Data (AEDE) and the Tobit method with spatial evaluation. The results are expected to show a relationship between the phenomenon in question and the determinants, contributing to its understanding, in order to assist in the elaboration / evaluation of public policies by the authorities.
