COMPARISON OF INSTRUMENTS FOR TRAILING AND STRATIFICATION OF ELDERLY FRAGILE IN PRIMARY HEALTH CARE

Introdution: Frailty is an aging-related health outcome that leads to functional changes. The frail elderly stand out among the most vulnerable population groups and it is recommended that, once the condition of frailty is recognized, resources should be used to regress or remedy the condition. For this, it is important to use easy-to-use instruments to track and stratify this framework. Objective: To compare valid instruments for screening and stratification of the frail elderly in primary health care. Methodology: This is na observational, cross-sectional epidemiological study with a convenience sample of community-dwelling elderly residents of the urban area of Parnamirim / RN. The study has a quantitative nature and a descriptive-analytical approach. Data collection involves the older Health Handbook, proposed by the Ministry of Health, and health and functionality assessment tools. Expected Outcomes: It is expected to gain understanding about the instruments that can be used for the screening and stratification of frailty in the PHC, easily and quickly applied, as well as to compare them, in order to know which instrument most appropriate for such assessment in PHC.
