This research analyzes the performance of public institutions that operate the law, when they act against Afro-Amerindian religions. A special focus is made on the actions of the Public Prosecution of  Rio Grande do Norte’s State, exerceting criminal prosecution to the detriment of religious people from Afro-Amerindian religions. Bourdieu's concepts of field and habitus are worked on, pointing out the existence of a “prejudiced habitus” in the conduct of Parquet's functions. There is evidence of prejudice, structural racism and religious intolerance, practiced in the context of a secular State.
