SUMMARY:

The changes in Brazilian Protestantism in recent decades are not restricted to the capture and transit of believers, but encompass the emergence of new ideas and demands, which have the Evangelical youth as an important actor. These transformations are expressed both in conscious internal struggles, institutions that resist modifications, and in adherence to other and/or new churches in line with their preferences. In view of this, this work intends to problematize the issue of religious transit in Brazil, with emphasis on the religious mobility of young people for reasons of seeking flexibility and religious autonomy and/or political preferences. Thus, the objective is to characterize the changes in the Protestant religious field, characterizing the profile of the young Evangelical who transits, delimiting his religion and seeking to understand his motivations. To carry out this investigation, methodologies such as a bibliographic review, semi-structured screening and face-to-face interviews with young evangelicals accessed from virtual groups of young people on WhatsApp and Facebook, and through privileged interlocutors, will be used. Finally, it is expected to investigate the hypotheses that point to reasons for religious transit in this context, as related to factors such as flexibility and religious autonomy and/or political emotions. Which was considered to culminate in verifying the role of the young Evangelical as a protagonist in this process, as indicated at least through statistical data and journalistic articles a priori.
