MASCULINITIES AND GENDER VIOLENCE: What does the perpetrator of violence against women say about the act committed?
Gender violence; reflexive groups; masculinities.
Despite the creation of the Law to combat domestic violence – Maria da Penha Law – in 2006, violence against women continues to show increasing data. In 2015, the Feminicide Law was created, which makes it hideous and increases the penalty for the crime of murdering women due to their gender condition, and the rates have not decreased. Therefore, research and actions that seek to understand this complex phenomenon are justified. Thus, the present research intends to interview male perpetrators of violence against women in order to understand how they understand the crime committed. The methodology used will be a non-directed interview with content analysis being related to concepts of the phenomenon studied by authors such as Lourdes Maria Bandeira, Maria Filomena Gregori, Paul Preciado, Raewyn Connell and Érica Canuto who address the themes of gender relations, gender violence and masculinities.
