SUMMARY:

The present work proposes to analyze the relationship between Religion and the Environment. Our intention is to understand the socio-environmental context of evangelical churches in the Felipe Camarão neighborhood in Natal, RN, in order to understand how the relationship of religious actors takes place in the care and preservation of nature. The research is justified because this is a subject of interest to the Social Sciences, above all, to understand the public participation of religious institutions in the field of research and their religious social agents in the face of the planetary environmental crisis that grows every day and feels more acute. As for the theoretical framework used to problematize the object of study, we used Bruno Latour's Actor Network Theory (ANT) in order to analyze how human and non-human actors interconnect, relate and perceive themselves as belonging to the same nature, even than in different modes of existence. The methodological proposal chosen for this research is called Knowledge Partnerships, which aim to break the subject-object disjunction and bet as a method of approach that the intersubjective encounter (I-YOU) is only possible when the enunciation regimes are aligned. The data collected are both quantitative and qualitative and the technique/instrument of data collection will be the scan and the semi-structured interview. Qualitative data analysis will be performed.
