SUMMARY:

Technological changes and communication platforms played a central role in the electoral dynamics of candidates for the presidential elections in Brazil in 2018. Social Media platforms, such as Facebook and WhatsApp, served as instruments to foster emotional mobilization and the crystallization of prejudices and preferences, as it is vastly known the importance of the internet as a platform for the dissemination of ideas, values , and proposals. In this context, this works has the objective to analyze the use of Facebook as an instrument by President Jair Bolsonaro's electoral campaign in Rio Grande do Norte in the year of 2018. For that, it is analyzed the official Facebook profile of PSL/RN. This study focuses on understanding how the local campaign managed to use social media to mobilize elements of the political imagination in local society, especially the platform of Facebook. Also this work tries to understand how Bolsonaro's local campaign used the main ideological flags of the Right, and how this made through images and videos in the way of reinforcing an identification with voters and their political imagery. Specifically, it is important to understand which symbols and images the right has mobilized to obtain an expressive amount of votes, as well as the imagination that was present at that time in society. The methodology used was a theoretical discussion and empirical aspects that guide ICTs in political marketing and political imaginary. We will carry out an investigation on the party's Facebook page within a determined time frame, so that we can make an analysis of this extracted content, through the method of comprehensive sociology. Finally, it will be conducted semi-structured interviews with the leaders of the local campaign, in a manner to understand what were their thoughts on the entire electoral marketing process.
