SUMMARY:

The thesis will present an analysis on the financing of electoral campaigns for the position of State Deputy in the Legislative Assembly of Rio Grande do Norte, highlighting by a methodological choice, only the elected deputies of the elections that are comprised in the years of 2002 to 2014. understanding the impact of the financing provided by legal entities, especially regarding the performance of state deputies in ALERN throughout their legislature. After analyzing the research and publications on the subject, there was a gap in the study of the decision-making process in the legislative houses and in the funding of state deputies, since the research and doctoral theses are mostly focused on national institutions. Initially, which configures the original character of the thesis to be researched and presented data related to the funding of state deputies’ campaigns in the state. Regarding campaign funding, after the elections, the research developed by Speck (2002, 2010, 2011, 2016), Marenco (2008), Mancuso (2007; 2015; 2017a; 2017b), expose the effects of corporate donations. on the parliamentary performance of the elected deputies. In the broader analysis of these authors, the influence of funding can affect the process of formulating public policy, parliamentary amendments, legislation, public procurement, and even legislative omission in addressing certain issues that may conflict with the agreements. already agreed in the pre-election stage.
