SUMMARY:

This thesis research is related to the singer and music composer Antonio Carlos Belchior (1946-2017), better known as Belchior, famous for success in the 70s and one of the greatest exponents of MPB call. Problematize and propose that the literary-musical images present in your songbook retroactive on the behavior and the biography of the artist from Ceará and therefore, we seek from our reading, identify the existence of images, such poetic spaces, ie, geographical references and symbolic, denoting the aesthetic and personal character of the composer changes. So we highlight four poetic spaces: a poetic backcountry in Belchior, subdivided into Sobral backcountry, backcountry of devotion and backcountry fortress, then a poetic city in Belchior, which also falls into city counterculture, politics and eroticism, a poetic Latin America and finally fourth poetic space, Arcadia, last place of production artist and be Belchior. Methodologically we resorted to the notion of autobiographical space to stand out the multiple narratives, especially the songs of Belchior, added to your listing and registration in other media as interviews for TV, radio and print media, websites and blog with content licensed by artist, jobs biographical, authorized or not on the composer. To study the images read in Songbook artist Ceara initially will use a multidisciplinary approach to image and imagination as Bachelard, Emanuelle Coccia, James Hillman, highlighting how the imaginary phenomena bind to cultural phenomena taken as activity, process constant change, expressed in Zygmunt Bauman's approach to the nature of cultural life.
