RESUMO:

It is proposed a systematic literature review that aims to understand how the studies that focus on the relationship between agroecology and food and nutrition security are outlined in an attempt to analyze which dimensions these topics have reached in the published scientific discussions. The review is structured by the PRISMA recommendation in order to aggregate characteristics of organization, quality, reliability and reducing possible bias in the research conformation. The publications for analysis were located based on their availability online on SciELO, Scopus, Web of Science, and AGRIS platforms. Inclusion criteria for these articles were studies published as original articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals; written in English, Spanish or Portuguese; with discussions focused on experiences in agroecology; without inclusion criteria to the date of publication of the article and also deadline for publication until 2018. The search in the databases was oriented by searching the terms “agroecology” in English and Portuguese. From that articles selection was performed the procedure of agroecology categorization as understood in three demands: science, social movement and food system. From that perspective, a bibliometric research of agroecology was assembled to point discusses limitations and evidences obtained with the systematization process.
