In some neighborhoods in the outskirts of Fortaleza, people of varied genres gather to perform poetry and express themselves artistically. The propositions of saraus in the outskirts of Fortaleza are the main motive of this research, whose objective is to analyze the itinerancies of those people guiding such spaces, as well as each proposition’s way of articulation and differentiation. With that aim, I interviewed the people who are part of the saraus or who left their contribution so that such spaces of performance and poetry could have their current configuration as socialization spaces in the outskirts of the city. Despite the scarcity of artistic and cultural options in peripheral spaces, the saraus present themselves as spontaneous manifestations of people motivated to propagate the artistic work to the different spaces of the city. Through the readings of Bruno Latour's Actor-Network Theory, I sought to construct a theoretical methodological framework that contemplated both poets and mobilizers of these spaces, as well as objects that participate as non-human actors in the objectification and strengthening of the saraus. I divided the present research in a first chapter, in which I sought to reflect on the origins of artists and cultural agitators of several neighborhoods in the outskirts of Fortaleza. In a second moment I will analyze such saraus and how these spaces of socialization put themselves in relation to the city of Fortaleza. Finally, I will seek to understand the organization of the meeting of Saraus de Periferia de Fortaleza, which in 2019 goes to its third edition.
