RESUMO:

This research is the fruit of ethnographic observations on the composition of the sacred settlements and their place in religion, specifically the settlements in the sacred Jurema. The settlements are composed of different material objects, sacred and used in Jurema rituals. They are understood conceptually as sacred artifacts, concretizing the places where the shrines of entities, caboclos and masters occur, as initiatory source and synthesis of the worldview of its followers. The work seeks to observe how such settlements enable the maintenance of knowledge, cosmological understanding and practices of religion, making them present as maintainers of knowledge of religious practice. At the conceptual level, the study follows the approach that includes artifacts as endowed with agency (Gabriel Tarde, Bruno Latour, Tim Ingold). Fieldwork is being carried out at Axé Ilê Bongundê, located in the city of Parnamirim-RN, through research strategies such as ethnographic observation and interviews.
