RESUMO:

The present work has the objective of reading the images of the sea and the winds of poetry by Gilberto Avelino, with the specific objectives of understanding what the elements of water and air represent in the work of the poet. the poetic philosophy of Gaston Bachelard. I will use as a theoretical and methodological contribution the two perspectives that make up the poetic imagination developed by the French philosopher: the material imagination of the four elements and the phenomenology of the imagination. Perspectives that a priori may be perceived as disparate, as ruptures, but which I consider to be complementary. I will also talk about homo poeticus, the poetic soul, a way of being, of perceiving and of relating to the world; and on the epistemological conception that underlies research, complex thinking, since I understand it as the most appropriate to deal with poetic being and poetic images. The research has a bibliographic character and a hermeneutical methodological approach to interpretation. Not in the sense of finding the truth of the text, what is hidden in it, or what lies behind the poems of Gilberto Avelino. What interests me is what it makes me think, what it makes me feel, what emerges from the encounter between the self and the text. What interests me are the resonances and repercussions of poetic images.
