RESUMO:

This study aims to investigate how is the gender identity of the transsexual woman supporter of candomblé, as regards the sexist Division that governing the operation of tasks and activities within the rituals of this religion, on the terraces located in the city of Natal and metropolitan region. To fulfill the objectives of this research, we decided to use as a methodological tool to bibliographical research on the themes of gender and religion as well as the methodology of ethnographic nature. In this way, the participant observation, using the field journal for the continuous registration of experiences experienced on the terraces, and semi-structured interviews, whereas the life narratives of speakers will be essential for the development of this work. It is intended, finally, to promote, in some measure, the discussion about transsexuality and as locus of the search context of the candomblecist religion in this region.
