RESUMO:

This work is linked to the State, Government and Society research line of the Graduate Program in Social Sciences of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte and analyzes the crisis of representativeness experienced by the National Students Union (UNE), in the period from 2007 to 2013. It starts from the hypothesis that the UNE, founded in 1937, the maximum representation entity of Brazilian students known for its history of struggles, for having dedicated itself to confronting the 1964 military-business-bureaucratic dictatorship and the struggle for the re-democratization of the country, showing its interventionist character in national politics, in the last years have experienced a process of bureaucratization reflected in the distance from the bases and the tactic of mobilization, opening space for the emergence of a crisis of representativeness before its base , which can be ascertained from the occupations of the chancellors held by students of Brazilian federal universities in 2007 and 20 08, against the university reform of the Lula Government opposing the position of the UNE supporter of government policies, as well as in the Journeys of June 2013 where the denial of traditional organizations and entities reach the UNE that for the first time in recent history is not one of the the main representatives of youth mobilizations that take place in the streets of the country. The methodology used to carry out this dissertation will be the analysis of semistructured interviews conducted with members of the UNE management in the management of 2007/2013 to 2013/2015, documentary and virtual research through leaflets, notes, magazines and theses produced by the movements involved in this dissertation. work and made available in print and / or in the social networks and site of the entity, as well as analysis of news from the newspaper El País, Folha de São Paulo and the magazine Carta Capital on the events occurred in 2013 and bibliographical research of specific literature on the UNE ,
