RESUMO:

One of the aspects that permeates the problematic about food is hunger. The malaise that consternates the past and the present of humankind is designated as a sequel to social injustice and vulnerability reaches hundreds of thousands of people around the world reaching the center of public policy discussions, scientific agendas, as well as gaining prominence in numerous scholarly studies. Several studies have appropriated literature as a possible way to understand phenomena related to hunger. Reflecting on these phenomena through art enables us to enter into a dense imagery of meanings that goes beyond objective interpretations. In view of this, the work O Quinze, by the author Rachel de Queiroz (1910-2003), focuses on this work as an object of knowledge, as a corpus of research to understand the hunger crisis from the point of view of Food and Nutrition Security, starting from the principle of food democratization since this act constitutes a human right. Given the idea that hunger has an intrinsic relation with space, the perspective of method that guides this research is the literary geography, in this way, it will be possible (1) to list the elements of the descriptive and narrative space of the work and then (2) relate these elements with the regime of scarcity, to finally, (3) present the social space of hunger.
