RESUMO:

The present thesis proposal intends to investigate the reception of queer theory and especially of the work of Judith Butler in Brazil in the area of the Human Sciences, having as central question of research the following question: queer theory can be understood as a field of study in the Human Sciences in Brazil? To answer this question, we understand that it is necessary first to elucidate how the concepts explored by Butler were crucial for the development of queer studies and how the inclusion of queer studies in Brazil has probably made it possible to see new insights about objects and categories of analysis for the Brazilian Human Sciences. From this, it is also intended to track the growth of works, theses and dissertations that theoretically appropriated the queer studies, in order to draw a map of queer studies in Brazil in the Humanities area. Methodologically, the research is qualitative of a bibliographic character, provides literature review, the use of the database tool, snowball sampling (VINNUTO, 2014) and content analysis (RICHARDSON, 2012) as research techniques. With this, the thesis research aims to contribute to the debate about how the possible tensions, ruptures and problematics proposed by the work of Butler and queer theory can contribute to the debate on relations of gender, sexuality and recognition in the area of Human Sciences in Brazil.
