RESUMO:

The present work of thesis that is being carried out has as its theme the human condition from the musical artistic work of the composer and singer from Bahia, Raul Santos Seixas. Understanding poetry, theater, cinema, literature, music, the arts as human experiences that can contribute to a consciousness and a knowledge of oneself, the relationship with the other and the insertion of the individual in society, this doctoral research assumes as a purpose to move towards reflecting on the constitution of the human being as universal and at the same time diverse and singular (MORIN, 2012b). As I walk through the itinerary of the life and work of the contemporary (AGAMBEN, 2009) Raul Seixas through his art, I intend the articulation between the two as inseparable for the emergence of ideas that are elaborated from the human experience itself. Starting from the consideration that in the arts there is a deep thought about humanity, I problematize the human condition through the compositions of Raul Seixas and the dialogue with the complex conception of subject and the notion of generic man proposed by Edgar Morin (1996), ( 2012b).
