RESUMO:

The present thesis qualification text results from the linguistic-philosophical observation and reflection on the cinematography proposal of the directors Peter Greenaway and Lars Von Trier from two films of each one: Prospero´s Books (1991) and The Pillow Book (1996), Greenaway; And Lars Von Trier's DogVille (2003) and Manderlay (2005). It is assumed that these films and directors are expressive of a cinema that breaks with mere aesthetic contemplation and is configured as a tactile cinema, which asks the viewer to be involved in the scene. The idea of tactile cinema is based on Steven Shaviro (2015) ena phenomenology of the body through body understanding, perception and sensation in Merleau-Ponty (2011). In this way, we intend to approach cinema as an area of knowledge that allows the exercise of a sociology of the poetic image and the imaginary, according to Edgar Morin's (2014) approach. Cinema represents a text of culture and can therefore be understood and problematized as a subject of sociological study in which the image ceases to be only surface and is linked to ideas, practices of representation, modes of perception, sensations and corporeities.
