This thesis proposes to verify how education and poverty are related in the school context of students benefiting from the Bolsa Família Program in the Metropolitan Region of Natal, seeking to identify the educational opportunities that the public school offers to promote social inclusion, in view of the new framework To combat socioeconomic inequalities in Brazil since 2004 with the creation of the income transfer program, which has been one of the strategies to combat urban "structural" poverty in the country, aiming at the school presence to break with the generational cycle of poverty .
