RESUMO:

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a topic that has been gaining ground in public agendas for discussion, whether in academic, corporate or public universe. CSR becomes more important in Brazil in the 1990s, when the intensification and increase market competitiveness, making companies think of strategies to ensure their place in the market as well as new forms of management. Within the CSR idea fits several segments, from the relationship with employees to concern with social and environmental demands, enabling the breadth of the subject. A reference in this discussion is the Ethos Institute, responsible for research on Corporate Social Responsibility. Regarding the definition of the term, Ethos takes that CSR also concerns the ethical and transparent relationship that companies have with their customers, employees and society in general. From this, the work also discussed the social role of business organizations. Therefore, study CSR in Construction in Natal and the metropolitan area will allow us to view the discussion at the regional level, as well as the actions undertaken by that industry. We justify the choice of Enterprise Construction as part of this project object before the space that his works have acquired in Natal area and the major impacts caused by them. Being an industry that causes great social and environmental impacts, the construction must meet certain technical requirements, these in turn are directed to segments that appear in the broad concept of CSR. Objectively, we intend to evaluate the Corporate Social Responsibility actions and its consequences in civil construction companies in the Potiguar capital and metropolitan area, specifically the discussion of rescuing companies as social and political actors; making the lifting of the construction activities in the aforementioned region and its participation in the economy; identifying the largest companies and CSR actions that are developed.
