SUMMARY:

The paleoproterozoic magmatism in Borborema Province have been exhaustively studying for better understanding the most importante period of crust formation of the Earth. In this connection, new geochemistry and geocronological data relocate augen gneiss, refered before Suite Poço da Cruz (2,0 Ga), now like a methaplutonic unity of Caicó Complex. Therefore, this article show new petrographic, mineral chemistry and U-Pb geocronological data of Riacho Salgado augen gneiss, located near of Laje’s urban center. This bory occurs like two ovals foms north South, demarcating three ductile defomationals events pre cambrian ando ne fragile, with recentes sets of fractures, someones filled for Rio Ceará-Mirim magmatism. In petrography where possible set two metamorphic events, M2 and M3, consequently many minerals gerations, like quartz, k-feldspar and plagioclase show in three gerations. Biotite, amphibole, titanite and opaque minerals show two gerations. Allanite, zircon and apatite be protolith crystals. Epidote, clorite, muscovite and carbonate occur as alteration. The opaque minerals be classified as magnetite, pyrite and ilmenite. In MEV, zircon, titanite and opaque minerals paragenesis be guide of continental crust’s granites type-I, whereas biotite, rich in annite’s molecule has indicate calcialkaline granites. Amphibole be classified as pargasite and magnesian-hornblend, meanwilhe plagioclase is be andesine. U-Pb age achieved 2234 ± 7,3 Ma was indicated paleoproterozoic period, similar to metaplutonic unity of Caicó Complex. The union of geocronological and mineral chemistry data corroborate a new classification.
