RESUMO:

The Barreirinhas Basin is located on the Brazilian Equatorial Margin. Its genesis is linked to the Mesozoic rifting process, when the crust to the north of the Barreirinhas Basin was uphill. This basin was driven by a mixed tectonic regime, with distension stresses resulting from the separation of the Pangea Supercontinent, associated to shear stresses influenced by the Romanche Fracture Zone. However, tectono-stratigraphic controls exerted up to the Cretaceous and subsequent reactivations distinguish the Barreirinhas Basin from the African analogue (Jubilee Petroleum Field). This work intends to construct geophysical and geological models that show off structurally and stratigraphically the evolution of the Barreirinhas Basin. For this, the interpretation of five 2D seismic sections was made with information from six of geophysical well profiles. In order to help in the interpretation process, some seismic attributes were used, which promoted a highlight both in the seismostratigraphic horizons and in the structural features. The results showed the predominance of normal listric falts in the rifte phase and the transtensional kinematics present in the most recent part of the Basin, represented by negative flower structures, due to the dextral movement during the separation of South America and Africa
