SUMMARY:

Disaster risk scenarios are reflected by the urbanization dynamics of cities and are one of the main consequences of spatial segregation. Disasters can arise from processes that are natural to the environment, affecting ecosystem stability, affecting exposed populations, or can be triggered as a result of human actions on the environment. Among the types of disasters that hit society most are Mass Movements / landslides, which in many cases are associated with destroyed buildings and affected victims. The research aims to: Analyze the elements and processes responsible for the spatial translation of the risk of mass movement in the São José do Jacó community, considering from space occupation to Disaster Risk Management. Due to the diversity of risk and vulnerability research methodologies, it was necessary to make adaptations to the procedures of other researchers, constructing an own methodology that offers attention to the specificities of the study area, allowing an analysis in scale of detail, through the use of indicators to elaborate the indexes of exposure, social vulnerability and risk index (InEX, InV and InRISK). The result achieved so far are in products obtained through the processing of drone images, and also in the understanding of the physical conditions and spatial occupation over which the study area emerges as a territory of mass movement risk. The other results will be obtained through the operationalization of the next methodological steps of the research.
