Charging for the use of raw water is an economical instrument for water resource management that aims to induce users to use water more rationally and generate revenue to finance the water resource management system of a certain hydrographic basin. This economic instrument for environmental management has been used in some hydrographic basins in Brazil and in the world, but it has not yet been implemented in most hydrographic basins in the Brazilian semiarid region, in which the quantitative and qualitative scarcity of water resources make charging for water use even more necessary. The objective of this work is to propose a unit price list of tariffs for the use of raw water for the urban supply sector in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. The proposed unit price table was calculated based on the profit or maximum payment capacity of the company CAERN between the years 2015 and 2019. Each unit price was multiplied by the volume of water captured by the company, reported in the SNIS, to obtain the values of total revenue to be collected with the collection and applied in the Integrated Water Resources Management System (SIGERH) of RN. With the unit price ranging from R $ 0.030 to R $ 0.060 per m³ of water captured, it is possible to obtain an average annual revenue of R$ 6.3 to R$ 12.7 million, which corresponds to approximately 17% to 35% operation, administration and maintenance costs of the SIGERH of the State of RN. These amounts are equivalent to a percentage of 16% to 32% of CAERN's maximum payment capacity. It is expected that the values presented in this study will serve as a reference for charging for the use of raw water and that this economic management tool will improve the management of water resources in the state of Rio Grande do Norte.
