RESUMO:

The Mundaú-Manguaba Lagoon Estuarine Complex (CELMM) is a system composed of two coastal lagoons, Mundaú and Manguaba, which are connected by narrow channels and share a single dynamically changing oceanic inlet. CELMM is of great economic importance to the surrounding municipalities, including the capital Maceió. However, many environmental problems caused by industrialization, urbanization and discharge of domestic and industrial effluents contribute to the reduction of water quality. In this context, hydrodynamic and water quality models emerge as a support tool in decision making restricted to coastal planning and management. Therefore, the objective of this work is to evaluate the temporal spatial behavior of the water quality parameters in the Mundaú-Manguaba Lagoon Estuarine Complex (CELMM), considering the morphological changes that occur in the estuary construction, using a quality model of the water.
