RESUMO:

The collaborative design process aided by BIM has tasks - coordination, simulation
and visualization - favored by the system, becoming increasingly popular among
construction designers in Brazil. However, there are cultural barriers, especially in the
reality of the Northeast of the country, and the demand to understand these processes,
considering the available resources or in the process of assimilation by most
professionals. The overall objective of the research is to “analyze how the BIM system
favors a collaborative process involving architectural and civil engineering designers”.
Among the methodological procedures, techniques and instruments adopted are the
promotion of a planned process in order to obtain some control, characterized as
extension activity, where architects and engineers work collaboratively with the use of
the platform. Finally, it is hoped that with the completeness of the data, it will be
possible to gain more information and thus better understand how and when the
platform can contribute to collaboration.
