This work aims to analyze the potential of daylight use in office rooms with fenestration systems oriented to East/West considering occupant behavior. Despite the great availability of daylight in Natal/RN, it is recurrent to underuse or disable the openings due to wrong design solutions and user control. The direct solar radiation generates glare and increases thermal loads, leading occupants to close the internal blinds. The consequence is insufficient daylight, obstructed outside view and dependence on artificial lighting. The evaluation procedure consists of modeling and simulation in the Rhinoceros/Grasshopper/DIVA platform, based on parametric design of Window-to-wall Ratio (WWR) and Sky View Factor (SVF). The results were processed using Excel spreadsheets to quantify the impact of system mobility and user behavior patterns. The criteria of analysis are useful daylight illuminance (UDI500-5000lux) and uniformity of distribution, and the models are classified based on luminous performance. The parcial results demonstrate the potential of using daylight for the cases of mobile systems with active users. For fixed systems, the increase of the WWR is indicated for small opening areas whereas for high WWR it indicates greater obstruction to avoid indirect light and glare.
