RESUMO:

Contemporary architectural research is revealing new ways of designing, especially with the emergence of new information technologies and rearrangements in the traditional work environment of architects. The object of this thesis relates the processes and design methods of some contemporary architecture offices of the beginning of this century, prizewinners and international titles, with proven professional experience, with theories and concepts of contemporaneity. The central question that instigates this research is: What is special about this contemporary production of architects and architectural firms who are winners of international prizes and winners of contests? What difference does the projection production of this new generation of architects have in relation to that of the star system that has been active in the international scene for the longest time? The initial hypothesis is that the design propositions of this new generation of architects present differentials, not only in formal experimentation, but also in the conceptual and methodological fields, which has led them to gain prominence in the international scenario. Another hypothesis to be raised in this research is whether the collaborative way of creating, acting and developing the projects in these offices makes them more competitive. Constructive Research will be the main methodology to be used with case studies on award winning projects and offices. Finally, based on the results obtained, it will be proposed to propose some guidelines for possible application in the professional practice and in the teaching of the architectural project
