To live by right: social rental housing in Brazil
the home, right to housing; Social rental housing; public policy
The present research project proposes to analyze the viability of social rental housing as a possibility of housing provision in Brazil. Considering the shortage of housing is still a reality in the country, new policies are seen in the housing scenario, which do not contemplate the final acquisition, but tenancy as an alternative managed by the State to provide the adequate housing. Based on the analysis of the meaning of the home and its derivations (housing and living) and the reading of some national and international experiences, as well as of the Brazilian legal system that supports the possibility of applying this type of housing provision, this project seeks to discuss social rental housing as a form of housing provision. For the accomplishment of this research, of eminently qualitative nature, based on an extensive review of the literature and documentary analysis, data, indexes and software will be used to illustrate the expected results. Semi-structured interviews will also be undertaken.
