SUMMARY:

This paper reports on the development of an interactive digital book (IDB), a type of Digital Learning Object (DLO), called Fuels - chemistry and energy: a virtual book with digital content for teachers and students. The book was hosted on the internet and organized in such a way that access to the resources is simple and straightforward. It contains three sections on a single page: Welcome, where the environment is introduced; Let's go! This is the section where users will have access to the book and can navigate through it, following the guidelines provided in the introduction to the material; Let's practice a bit? here you will find exercises, the most recent questions from the National High School Exam (ENEM), covering the chemical concepts that the book covers throughout its topics. The book can be accessed via the website www.magnoaraujo.com, from where you can use all the media quickly and easily. This format was chosen because, using a link and a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet, or using a computer with internet access, teachers and students can take advantage of all the alternatives offered by the product to make it easier to understand chemistry and its relationship with the energy aspects of matter. The virtual book has been developed to be constantly updated with more resources, and the chemistry content can be further explored and deepened in future versions. From the evaluations carried out with teachers and students, it was concluded that this tool has great potential for working with content that relates chemistry and energy in a more creative and interactive way.
