Information and knowledge resources are considered strategic for the success of new organizational models, both in the context of private and public companies. Not in a different context, state university hospitals are important public bodies that provide services to society and demand the constant use of information to generate knowledge. It is also known that when working together exchanging knowledge and information, they can all benefit in the process. It is necessary, therefore, create practice that may help in the collection, creation, storage, treatment and distribution of information and knowledge among the ones involved in this network. Based on this new role, hospital management is focused on improving the quality of services provided to the population, using Knowledge Management (KM). In this scenario, the present research mins objective is to analyze the network of 39 state university hospitals under the management of the Brazilian Company of Hospital Services (EBSERH) from the perspective of KM. The research approach is quantitative, its nature descriptive, using the strategy of bibliographical and documentary research, especially gathering data in a participative manner. Data were collected from the questionnaire based in the Terra model (2000), and the study environment was composed by managers who are connected to the CEO of these hospitals and their processes. It was used the descriptive statistics technique to analyse the data. As a result, it can be verified that the network constituted of these hospitals does not yet have a formal plan with structuring actions focused on KM. Nonetheless, there were important aspects that favor KM notably, with the achievement of the best averages in the dimensions regarding learning with the environment and strategic factors and the role of CEO. The results measurement, the culture and the organizational values, as well as the organizational structure and the human resource management present a reasonable existence of managerial practices of KM. The result also points out to the opportunities for improvement in information systems, which was the dimension that obtained the lowest result. In general, the result contributed to the construction of the proposal of the situational action plan and it is expected that the study will compete for a commitment of the managers in charge, related to the implementation of KM practices that will contribute to a growth network results.
