EVALUATION OF INFORMATION MANAGEMENT IN THE DEPUTADO MÁRCIO MARINHO LIBRARY

With the growth of the perception of the value of information in the organizations increases the need to manage the informational volume according to the institutional objectives, mainly in units of information as as libraries. For this it is a Information management (IM) contributes to optimize the information flow in accordance with the demands and the information requirements of the organization. In the library environment the IM is translated in the format of Collections Management, it controls the life cycle of items in the collections to make them more accessible. In this panorama, an Information Asset Audit offers the operational tooling to verify and demonstrate how the management of informational assets and how to be true. In the face of the above, this research has as main objective to audit Information Management at Biblioteca Deputado Márcio Marinho, it is contained in the structure of the Escola da Assembleia Legislativa do Rio Grande do Norte (ALRN), thus categorized as a parliamentary library. It has as specific objectives: a) to verify that the objectives of the library are being achieved; b) to analyze the adequacy of the acquis, consider informational needs of the users and think of the organization's maintainer; c) Identify strengths and weaknesses of collection management D) Propose recommendations that contribute to The establishment of a collection management policy. The methodology is based on Intelligence Audit Model of the author the Carvalho, A. (2010) that audits and relates internal and external aspects to an organizational holistic evaluation. The collection tools are: Questionnaire applied to the users of the library and the Director of the Escola da ALRN; Users ' observation; Documentary research and interview with a core chef of the library. Data analysis is based on descriptive statistics and content analysis. Finally, this research hopes to contribute to the improvement of the collection management in the library object of this study, and to collaborate with the academic robustness in the area of information and knowledge management.
