THE TEACHING OF URBAN GEOGRAPHY: proposal for a didactic book for the study of Parelhas/RN
Urban Space, City, Geography Teaching, Paradidactic Geography Book, Parelhas/RN.
Knowing that Urban Geography has the City as its object of study, it can be seen that Urban Space is understood as a result of the way in which society organizes itself in its Place, understood as a lived space, in which subjectivity relations are constructed through throughout the experiences. This research, guided by Humanist Geography and supported by Phenomenology assumptions, considers that the production of urban space occurs through different uses triggered by different social agents. In view of the scarcity of updated and contextualized information for the study of the city and with the aim of contributing to pedagogical practice in relation to the teaching and study of urban space in geography on a local scale, the general objective was to develop a research for the production of a paradidactic book that addresses the Urban Geography of the city of Parelhas/RN, contemplating its socio-spatial formation and aimed at the 6th year of Elementary School II. The theme of urban space, chosen to carry out this research, is justified by the need for complementary material to textbooks, as these do not sufficiently address the content about the place in the local context. The writing of this paradidactic material represents an effort to enrich the teaching of School Geography, being content that acquires relevance and meaning for the student when addressing the reality of the place where they live their daily experiences.
