The Accountability Performance Index (IPC) as a Tool for Innovation and Public Governance in the State of Rio Grande do Norte - Brazil
accountability; public governance; internal control; public sector innovation; accountability performance.
The Public Accountability Index (iPC), developed by the Office of the Comptroller General of the State of Rio Grande do Norte, is analyzed as a tool for evaluating the institutional performance of executive branch agencies. The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques such as correlation, regression, and clustering, alongside the use of Power BI and Google Colab. Structured around three dimensions — Transparency, Budgetary, and Accountability — the iPC identifies significant disparities across thematic areas, fostering a culture of monitoring, promoting continuous improvement, and strengthening governance, integrity, and transparency practices in public administration.
