On the stages of the “New” High School: a methodological proposal for teaching theater.

The research in question aimed to build a methodological proposal for Teaching Theater for the “New” High School, included in the Art discipline, in Basic General Training. To this end, theatrical elements were worked on as an essential part of Theater Teaching in the teaching stage intended for this research, with the perspective of intervening in audience formation. The research was carried out in the public education network, specifically at the Presidente Roosevelt State School, located in the city of Parnamirim, State of Rio Grande do Norte, in the three grades of high school, where the “New” High School was implemented in the year 2022. Therefore, the teachings of Spolin (2006) and Koudela (2009) were used as a theoretical reference to construct a playful methodology based on theatrical games, dialoguing with Ranciere (2002) and Freire (2004) to support a methodological proposal that consider the student as the main focus of the teaching-learning relationship.
