SUMMARY:

Introduction: In Brazil, the incidence of adverse events (AE) in health is high, with pressure injuries (PUs) being one of the most frequent, even though they are preventable in the vast majority of cases. Therefore, it is important to have safe and effective practices to reduce this prevalence. The application of the Braden Scale to identify a patient's risk of developing PUs is an important instrument for guiding care that should be applied at the time of hospitalization of this patient. Thus, a cycle of improvement in the process of preventing PUs is of great relevance for the institution, for professionals and to guide and qualify the safe care provided to patients. Objective: To carry out a cycle of quality improvement for the prevention of pressure injuries in the Medical Clinic of a State Hospital in the interior of the State of Rondônia. Methodology: This is a quantitative, quasi-experimental, before-and-after study, without a control group, through the application of a cycle of quality improvement in the Medical Clinic of a State Hospital. The implementation of the interventions is expected to take place in the first half of 2025, after the project has been approved by the Research Ethics Committee. Final considerations: The results of this study are expected to contribute to actions to prevent PU, thus reflecting in the improvement of the quality of care for hospitalized patients.
