SUMMARY:

This study analyzed administrative processes involving faculty and administrative staff at the Escola Multicampi de Ciências Médicas (EMCM), a teaching unit of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). The objective was to diagnose errors, delays, and omissions in the instruction of these administrative processes, with the purpose of proposing effective solutions based on the identification of flaws. To this end, the methodology employed was applied in nature and descriptive in terms of its objectives. Regarding the diagnostic method, the research is classified as mixed, employing both quantitative and qualitative approaches. In terms of procedures, the study combined documentary, bibliographic, and participatory research. Among the results, the diagnosis revealed that the higher volume of processes in relation to the number of interested staff members is not only due to the nature of the processes, but also to omissions, delays, and errors committed by the staff themselves, particularly faculty members. The research also identified flaws both in the EMCM secretariat and in the sectors responsible for process analysis. As a theoretical contribution, the study establishes a relationship between the principle of publicity and the principle of efficiency. It demonstrates the importance of sound information management in reducing failures and increasing efficiency in process administration. Moreover, the study presents significant social contributions by proposing the development of informational materials on public servant careers, contributing to information management and to the improvement of public service through the training of institutional staff.
