PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES IN PANDEMIC TIMES: A STUDY ON THE IMPACTS OF ADOPTING TELEWORKING ON THE PERCEPTION OF PUBLIC SERVERS
Teleworking. Public server. Public universities
To contain the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), Brazil implemented drastic restrictions on public or social life, which resulted in the paralysis of administrative and academic activities in person throughout the higher education network. In this sense, with the objective of preventing any type of crowding of people, and thus containing the spread of the disease, the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), authorized remote work for its servers and suspended in-person service to the public administrative and academic units. Although teleworking in public administration is already a reality, it was only during the coronavirus pandemic that most Brazilian public universities started to adopt it as a way of working. Knowing that the implementation of remote work can bring a series of consequences for the worker, the present work aims to analyze the impacts of the adoption of telework during the pandemic of COVID-19 in the perception of UFRN's technical-administrative servers. This is a descriptive research with a quantitative approach and with a cross-sectional design, to be developed with technical-administrative teleworkers from the Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde do Trairi (FACISA/UFRN). It is hoped that the results obtained will increase knowledge about this type of work and provide support for the strategic planning of organizations that intend to implement the teleworking scheme or improve an existing program.
