SUMMARY:

Despite the historical progression of formal advancements regarding the rights of
children and adolescents in Brazil, the effective implementation of socio-educational public policy
remains a challenge, requiring a multidisciplinary approach from the professionals involved.
Focusing on the context of executing the socio-educational measure (MSE) involving deprivation of
liberty—specifically as applied to the female population in the state of Rio Grande do Norte (RN)—this
project seeks to answer the following question: how does the functioning of the group comprising
socio-educational workers impact the execution of this measure? Thus, the research aims to analyze
identity, power, and group activity in relation to the socio-educational process being carried out.
Methodologically, interviews will be conducted with the workers; the findings will then be analyzed
through the lens of the Marxist theoretical perspective, the psychosocial model of group studies
proposed by Martín-Baró (1942–1989), and the relevant theoretical and normative frameworks in the
field. Ultimately, the project aims to contribute to theoretical efforts dedicated to conceptualizing and
enhancing socio-educational policy.
