Seedling performance indices are promising tools for estimating seed vigor; however, their application is still largely associated with automated image analysis systems. This study aimed to validate indices derived from manual measurements of seedling length as predictors of seed vigor in Mimosa caesalpiniifolia treated with different concentrations of Arthrospira platensis extract. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design with seven extract concentrations (0–3.0%) and four replicates of 50 seeds. Germination, seedling emergence, emergence speed index, accelerated aging, and seedling dry mass were evaluated. At 5, 7, and 10 days after sowing, root, shoot, and total seedling lengths were measured and used to calculate growth (GI), uniformity (UI), vigor (VI), and corrected vigor (CVI) indices. Extract concentrations did not affect germination but significantly influenced emergence, emergence speed index, and accelerated aging (p < 0.01), with quadratic responses and maximum values at intermediate concentrations (1.5–2.0%). The extract increased root length and total seedling length, resulting in consistent improvements in GI, VI, and CVI. Multivariate analyses revealed a strong association between conventional vigor variables and indices based on seedling growth. These results indicate that indices derived from manual measurements represent sensitive, low-cost tools with strong potential for predicting seed vigor.
