SUMMARY:

In this work, we explore isoperimetric problems in the plane through a gradual approach, starting from elementary geometric intuitions and progressing toward more general and abstract formulations. In addition to the theoretical development, we investigate the didactic potential of the topic within the context of Basic Education. To this end, we propose three interconnected lesson sequences aimed at different educational levels, with the goal of stimulating students' curiosity, logical reasoning, and ability to generalize. The study also presents an alternative and original proof regarding the growth of the area of regular polygons as a function of the number of sides, using only elementary arguments. We hope this research contributes to highlighting the importance of addressing advanced mathematical topics in an accessible way, fostering student interest and encouraging a continuous pursuit of knowledge.
