THE MIDDLE CLASS IN THE NORTHEAST AND THE RELATIONS BETWEEN CONSUMPTION AND FERTILITY

In recent years they were made extensive discussions on a social phenomenon that had a major impact at national level: the mobility of people who migrated from one social class to another higher and being called "new middle class". Besides the great political and economic importance, this group had great effect on socio-cultural dynamics and impact also in the composition of the population, in addition to improve the socio-economic situations, individuals in the new middle class contributed to lower fertility rates in one of the regions considered the poorest in Brazil, and build a culture of population actively growing and more qualified. Along these lines, and observe how they behave social classes with respect to their consumerist desires, this study aims to present a list of these new behaviors of society with the impacts in the age composition of the population in the Brazilian northeast.
