In June 2022, the series Ms. Marvel premiered on the Disney Plus streaming service, featuring Kamala Khan, a pakistani-american teenager living in New York with her family. Amidst the dilemmas of adolescence, Kamala acquires superpowers. The series stands out among the american platform's catalog for being the first to feature a muslim character. Based on this, the question arises: "What is the perception of the Islamic Community from Natal/RN regarding the representation of muslim individuals in the series?". Thus, this research seeks to understand and analyze the perception of muslim women from Natal/RN regarding islamic mediatization in Ms. Marvel. This research is based on the theories of mediatization (Martino, 2022; Sodré, 2006) and representation (Hall, 2016), uses semi-structured interviews as a research method (Lima, 2016; Trivinõs, 2008), and Discourse Analysis as an analytical method. (Orlandi, 2010) As hypotheses, it is assumed that the interviewees approve of media representations that bring new narratives to Muslims, such as superheroes; however, some constructions in the series may be disapproved of by the participants. This research is justified by practical, theoretical, and personal reasons, involving a religious group whose presence in the state of Rio Grande do Norte is still little addressed in academia, thus contributing to the research line in Communication and Religion, continuing this researcher's investigative trajectory on this topic.
