Freirean communication; Counter-hegemonic journalism; Information democratization; Instagram profiles
This study proposes the analysis of counter-hegemonic journalistic profiles on Instagram that critically contextualize reality, highlighting Paulo Freire's contributions to communication theories. By investigating the profiles (@almapretajornalismo, @midiaindiginaoficial, and @nosmulheresdaperiferia), the research aims to evaluate how these spaces strengthen the democratization of information and Brazilian cultural identity, offering new forms of sociability and more inclusive narratives. The methodology is based on Freire's educational communication principles, using hermeneutics and Grounded Theory to develop a critical and reflective understanding. The objective is to understand how Freirean principles are incorporated into counter-hegemonic communication in digital journalism in Brazil.
