TOURISM IN PROTECTED NATURAL AREAS: analysis from the perspective of tourism planning in the conservation units in the process of creation in the Polo Costa das Dunas/RN

The present research project aims to understand how the management of the Polo Turístico Costa das Dunas are getting involved in tourism planning the conservation units that are in the process of creation. The State of Rio Grande do Norte has nine legally imposed conservation units that corresponds approximately to 240,000 hectares,in addition, the Institute for sustainable development and environment – IDEMA/RN, through the Core of protected areas is investing on creation of new units that will represent an increase of more than 120,000 hectares. The units in creation at the Polo Costa das Dunas, two will be objects of this research proposal, Parque Estadual do Jiqui, located in the municipality of Parnamirim/RN that comprising an area of 395 acres and the Parque Estadual dos Mangues do Potengi is located in Natal/RN, with coverage of 824.43 hectares. For the construction work will be carried out bibliographic and documentary surveys with a view to deepening the theme and knowledge of the areas of study. The research will have exploratory and descriptive character with a qualitative approach and analytical techniques will be descriptive and content analysis. In this way, with the search results to understand the process of creating the units, involvement of actors related to tourism, as well as the risks and benefits that exist in the tourist potential in both parks in creation, in the perception of the Managing Council of the Polo Turístico Costa das Dunas. Thus, it will be possible to establish whether the tourist planning is happening so integrative integrative with involvement of stakeholders in tourism in the creation of protected natural areas, In addition to achieve results that can contribute to better implementation and management units.
