The influence of emotional state on nursing professionals’ sleep quality in hospital shifts

This study aims to analyze the emotional state and sleep quality of nursing professionals in hospital shifts. Method. This is a descriptive, quantitative, cross-sectional and comparative study. Its sample is comprised of nursing professionals from the University Hospital Onofre Lopes, Natal / RN. The following instruments will be used: Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Assessment, for the evaluation of the aspects of sleep; Present Emotional State List, in order to identify the current emotional state; and Individual Characterization and Social Demographic Assessment. This study will be able to demonstrate behavior patterns related to sleep quality and current emotional state, as well as the potential of work shifts to alter their features.
