The study “OPEN THE CALABASH! Inside the calabash is your mother and my story” aims to highlight the multiple pregnancies and pathways that constitute a poetic work arising from ancestry, mythology and imagery revisited, giving continuity to a reflective, creative, ethnographic and counter-colonial study that starts from a body memory in the following visual writings: “Oid'água” and “CORPO – MÃE CORPO – CRIA”. The organization of these imagetic daydreams culminates in the idealization of CALABASH BODY as a driving concept that establishes dialogues about artistic and maternal creation. In this context, it is within the CALABASH’S BODY that creative and social actions are developed based on myths and memories from movement of everyday life and ancestry. Initially, access to the ancestral reminiscence of a matrilineal corporality stands out, the figure of “PYRYGO” in “Oid'água”, followed by the assimilation of the second work “CORPO-MÃE CORPO-CRIA” as support for the movement of fragmented wisdoms throughout the colonized experience. Calabash’s body is the calabash that feeds, it is the source of the seeds that germinate the plot of this writing that investigates the construction of poetic experiences and the reforestation of the imagination. It is through the body that the memory of ancestry is reconstructed and grounded in the present.
