SUMMARY:

The body and its experiences are vast scenic material. Before following the guidelines of a choreographer, intuition leads to the recognition of the material of life itself as a theme to be danced, also silence during observation is necessary. This study presents similarities between the Angel Vianna's Methodology and Vipassana Meditation as supports for dancing creation.  Moreover,  it records the creation's process of the  solo “Uirapuru. Tempo brasil” dancing sharing the experience of how the body through meditation and awareness experiences a creative process, taking advantage of daily events. The Angel Vianna's Methodology and Vipassana Meditation are practices that encourage observation and silence, the firstly through the movement of the body and the secondly through the mind. The approximation between these two practices provides support for a creative process in facing current challenges. The research has a phenomenological approach and starts from the record of the experiences passed trhough the author himself, a dance artist in the creation process of "Uirapuru. Tempo Brasil" at the phenomenological reduction and interpretation of both  events of the body in relation to everyday's life experiences  as well as  of the breeding essay,  in addition to the Merleau-Ponty's Phenomenology of Perception,  which offers a theoretical-methodological approach to the research, other references are being used, such as: Jorge de Albuquerque Vieira's studies on Umwelt and complexity,  the same way, Karenine de Oliveira Porpino's research about the relationship between dancing, attention and meditative practices, among others. The dance solo “Uirapuru. Tempo brasil” is based on the legend of an endangered bird in the Amazon and is related to the recent deforestation, the devaluation of the  indigenous culture as a base of Brazilian's culture. This theme emerged from the constant focus on the Angel Vianna's Methodology and the daily practices of Vipassana Meditation. The scenic material is being consolidated  as soon as the   socio-political events interfere in the artist's reality connecting them  with his body/mind which are constantly sensitized by the  immersion   provided through meditation and body awareness.
