Checklist

PAGES: 60
BIG AREA: Ciências da Saúde
AREA: Fisioterapia e Terapia Ocupacional
SUMMARY:

Introduction: Lumbopelvic pain (LPP) is one of the most frequently
reported complaints during pregnancy, with a prevalence of 63%.
Treatment during pregnancy should preferably be non-invasive, such as
physiotherapy. However, evidence of physiotherapy interventions for
pregnant women with LPP is very limited in the scientific literature.
Objectives: To synthesize the available evidence on the effectiveness of
physiotherapy interventions for low back pain in pregnant women and to evaluate the quality and completeness of the description of these
interventions, based on the TIDieR checklist. Methods: Randomized
controlled trials that evaluated the effect of physiotherapy interventions
in pregnant women of any age and gestational trimester diagnosed with
lumbopelvic pain, including low back pain, pelvic girdle pain, or
combined pain, will be included. Review studies, observational studies,
editorials, letters, commentaries, preprints, and dissertation and thesis
repositories will be excluded. This systematic review protocol follows
the recommendations of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic
Review and Meta-Analysis Protocols (PRISMA-P) and was registered
with PROSPERO under number CRD420251061024. Searches will be
conducted in PubMed, PEDro, Cochrane Library, Scopus, Web of
Science, Embase, and LILACS, using search terms such as pregnancy,
lumbopelvic pain, and physiotherapy interventions. Four independent
reviewers will select the articles to be included, extracting data using a
standardized form to assess the completeness of the intervention
reports using the TIDieR (Template for Intervention Description and
Replication) checklist. Methodological quality will be assessed using
GRADE, and discrepancies will be resolved by a fifth researcher. The
results will be synthesized and, if possible, a meta-analysis will be
performed. Expected Results: The results can expand scientific
knowledge, improve clinical practices by contributing to clinical
decision-making, and promote the application of more appropriate
treatments.
